The ABC's of Aging: Advocate

ABC's of Aging: Advocate for yourself, for your neighborhood, for peaceful transitions. A small committed group can change the future.,

When neighbors call me for assistance from the Got Your Back Neighbor Network it's often when they're faced with an immediate pressing issue. Sometimes it's their own problem; sometimes they know of a neighbor facing a challenge. I'll tell you this: we as a group of thoughtful, committed citizens do great when the need is a meal train or transportation for a limited amount of time. But when the call is for getting professional assistance with activities of daily living or post-hospital transitioning, it's really difficult to find what's needed on a last minute basis. That's why it would be a big help to have a committed group of High Vista residents to work with me on building our relationships with Home Health Providers locally. Think about it this way, "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, who am I? If not now, when then?" If you have any interest at all in learning what we may be able to accomplish together, please contact Sharon Willen.
